DEPED REGIONAL OFFICE III FETES GAPO STUDENT






The Department of Education Regional Office III led by Regional Director Dr. Ronnie S. Mallari has named Francis Deinmel Legaspi from the Schools Division Office (SDO) Olongapo as one of the Ten Most Outstanding Campus Journalists of Region III.
Legaspi, a multi-awarded grade 6 student from the Special Education Center for the Gifted (SPED-G) Kalayaan, also placed third in the Best Anchor category for Radio Scriptwriting and Broadcasting (Filipino) in the recently-concluded Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) in Balanga, Bataan.
Meanwhile, the SDO of Olongapo headed by OIC-Schools Division Superintendent (SDS) Imelda P. Macaspac recognized the achievements of students and teachers from the SPED-G Kalayaan who won at the RSPC competition.
The Filipino Broadcasting Team of the school placed fourth in the Best Infomercial category.
Team members included Francis Legaspi, Anne Margarette Inton, Erika Lianne Perez, Precious Louise Mazon, Melissa Ana Marie Patacsil, Martin Lucas Mallari, and Kirk Lucas Pangan, under the guidance of their coach and adviser, Sally Araña Asiatico.
The DepEd Olongapo also recognized Ina Lim Habacon, the school’s english school paper adviser, who was recognized as one of the Most Outstanding Campus Advisers of Region III.
SPED-G Kalayaan is led by Principal Mylin Gamboa-San Jose and Assistant Principal Ronald dela Cruz.
Public Schools Division Supervisor Filomena D. Pascual was acknowledged for her support of the school’s campus journalism programs.
